Tell us what sharing a home with you would be like.
We arrange same-gender flat shares. If you’d rather discuss this privately, choose ‘Prefer not to say’.
This service is for people aged 18 and over. We ask for an age band, not your date of birth.
Choose Jain if you follow a Jain diet. We’re asking about food, not religion.
This is about the home you would share. You can select both.
For example, engineer or MBA student. If neither applies, say so. No employer or college name needed.
Up to 160 characters.
For example, one cat. Up to 120 characters.
A flat’s pet permission still needs to be confirmed.
Anything you would want a flatmate to know up front. Please leave out names of other people, phone numbers, full addresses and identity-document details.
Up to 500 characters. This note stays with our team unless you later agree what to share.
We’ll message you to arrange a call before any introductions.
First name is enough. Up to 60 characters.

Having trouble with this form? Use our backup form.
The backup has its own questions and permissions. Your answers aren’t transferred. This service is for adults on every route.
A shared home.
One step at a time.
01Tell us what you need.
Message us on WhatsApp or fill in the form here. Tell us your preferred areas, your share of the rent, when you want to move and whether you need more flatmates.
We speak with you before arranging introductions. If you want to meet potential flatmates, we agree with you what to include in a short summary. First introductions leave out your name and phone number.
02Talk first. Then view flats.
If everyone wants to talk, we host a video call so you can ask each other questions. We stay on the call with you.
Next, we arrange separate visits to SortHomes flats. Each listing shows the rent and move-in costs before you visit.
03Choose a flat together.
You decide whether to rent together. After you’ve agreed on a SortHomes flat and token money has been paid, we ask for your permission before sharing your phone number with the people you’ll live with.
Your details.
Your decision.
No public profiles. Your form answers are kept privately for your rental request. Your name and phone number are left out of first introductions.
You choose what is shared. We speak with you and agree the summary before introducing you to potential flatmates. Sending a request does not make your answers public.
Your number stays private until you agree. We ask before sharing it, and only after token payment on the chosen flat.
We group flatmates by gender. Everyone sharing a flat is the same gender.
Who chooses the flatmates?
You do. We use your area, budget, timing, group size and same-gender sharing requirements to look for possible introductions. Your age band and optional answers about food, smoking or drinking, work or study, and pets help you discuss whether living together would suit you.
We don’t ask your religion or caste. “Jain” in the form describes a diet, not a religion we assign to you. We don’t use it to infer your religion or create religious groups.
We speak with each person, but we don’t run background checks or independently verify what they tell us.
Good to know.
Is finding a flatmate free?
Yes. There’s no fee for finding flatmates. Each SortHomes flat listing shows its brokerage, including when it is ₹0.
Can you find someone for my existing flat?
No. This service is for people who want to rent a SortHomes flat together. We don’t find replacements or fill rooms in an existing flat.
Can my friend and I look together?
Yes. You can look alone, with a friend or as a group. Tell us how many of you are looking and whether you need more flatmates. If your group is complete, we can help with the flat search.
How will I meet potential flatmates?
We first share a summary you’ve agreed to, without your name or phone number. If everyone wants to talk, we host a video call. We ask before sharing phone numbers, and only after token payment on the chosen flat.
Do I have to share my answers with potential flatmates?
No. You can send a request and speak with us first. We won’t share a summary unless you agree. To arrange an introduction, we’ll need to agree what the other person can be told.
Is there a minimum age?
Yes. Everyone using this flatmate service must be aged 18 or over. This applies whether you use our website form, WhatsApp or the backup form.
Is my age verified?
No. We ask you to select an age band, not provide your date of birth. Your answer is self-reported; it is not proof of age.
Can I change my mind?
Yes. Message us on WhatsApp to change your answers, stop introductions or ask us to stop using your details for this request. We’ll remove you from the active list and stop further introductions. We can’t take back information someone has already received.
How soon can I find flatmates?
There’s no fixed timeline. It depends on who else is looking and which SortHomes flats are available. Tell us when you need to move so we can discuss what’s possible.
